Douglas Adams - HHG Rule #42

Posted 20th October 2013

I don’t know why there is so much speculation about the Meaning of Life and People asking about it repeatedly... The Never Ending Quest of Life is to “Adapt Adopt and Improve”

And any life form worth it’s salt will do these three things or eventually it will stop continuing to be a life form.

No Doubt in difficult times Humans have to follow that rule too, but given a choice they would rather sit still and Complain to the Cosmos for not being fair: )

Doctor WHO vs HITCHHIKERS Guide

If you think about it Douglas Adams wrote scripts for Doctor Who and Then the Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy. The Question is, is it the same Universe with out the Time Lords an their nasty opposites?

Adams must have discovered that the Galaxy most likely has to deal with the same kind of Crazy Non-sense that we have to deal with on Planet Earth without the the help of Time lords.

A concept in humorous Science fiction well worth exploring but He had sole ownership of the Guide concept and it has not been handed on to the Next Generation.

Red Dwarf, yet another BBC Science Fiction Series with a strong humor element seems to have the same origins but they not only ditched the Time Lords but the Rest of the Galaxy as well leaving its vastness to be populated by Androids, Holograms, Simulants, Gelfs and Cat People left overs from a once vast Human Colonial Empire. now with only one Human left!

They all Come from the Same Creative Minds from the Same Organization yet It is some how hard to Imagine any Serious Crossover of these Stories. though if Time Travel is ever possible they will obviously need some sort of Council to deal with it or at least an old man in a shack.

Even Red Dwarf must have some rules... They Found Humanity had invented a Time Transporter but yet nobody ever appeared to use it to go ahead or backwards as recklessly as the Hitch Hiker Universe.

Should a Crossover ever be tried?  Probably only as Parody if at all. though the Doctor spends so much time on Earth the rest of the Galaxy must not even be aware of him at all, The Old Man in the Shack with his CAT could well be his Dad who in turn could be a very old Dave Lister from another Time...
